We had this happen to us a few months before we got married! We have no idea where they came from and at first Ian didn’t believe me. It was a huge hassle and our apartment place was not as understanding as yours. There were some problems with the cleaning crew they hired and they tried to charge us an extra fee. But you are right about the money! We spent a lot.
What a nightmare! I think as time goes on, apartment places realize that it’s bound to happen every once in awhile. I had to tell the front office because there’s a whole page in our lease about who pays for everything (us). I was really surprised they were nice about it, too. Then I found out that there’s an epidemic of them on campus… So… Maybe they just expect it down here?
